Impregnation
concrete protection
C² Salt Safe™ - impregnation of concrete, protection against chlorides (salt)
Can I use C2 Salt Safe if the floor was once chemically cured?
Yes, in most cases you can apply C2 Salt Safe to a previously chemically cured floor.
If the concrete still absorbs water, it will also absorb the product.
To test this, pour a little water on the floor, wait a few minutes and wipe off the rest.
If the place darkens - the concrete has absorption and the product will work properly.
If the water stays on the surface and does not penetrate, contact us - we will choose another method or solution.
C² Protector™ - concrete protection, hydrophobic agent
Does C² Protector™ darken the concrete?
YES - May slightly darken the surface of the concrete.
What products and surfaces can C² Protector™ be applied to?
Can C² Protector™ be polished after application?
You can
- High speed polishing can help remove any haze from the surface that has formed after excessive application C² Protector™
Can other products be applied over C² Protector™?
NO
- On top of C² Protector™ nothing can be applied.
- C² Protector™ is the final step and repels any liquids that find their way to the top.
What if after applying C² Protector™, the surface looks greasy or as if it is not drying?
Such an effect is most often due to the use of too much product. This is especially true for previously impregnated surfaces (e.g.C² Seal™ or C² Ultra Seal™ or C² Ultra Matte™), to which only a very thin layer should be applied -. in the form of a mist, with a capacity of about 120 m² from 1 liter.
What to do when too much has already been imposed?
- Wait and ensure good ventilation - Allow the product to naturally penetrate the concrete.
- If the surface still looks greasy or dries unevenly,
→ polish it with a high-speed polisher using a natural bristle pad.
This will allow you to evenly distribute the excess product and even out the appearance of the floor
- → apply dry with a single-disc scrubber using a natural bristle or white or red pad.
When to contact?
If, despite polishing, the effect is still questionable or the surface remains slippery / sticky - contact us. We will choose the appropriate method of correction or propose an alternative solution.
How much C² Protector™ product should I use and why so little?
C² Protector™ works very effectively with just a minimal amount - do not apply it „richly”, like typical impregnants.
-
The recommended yield is about 100 m² from 1 liter of product.
-
If the surface was previously protected, such as. C² Seal™ or C² Ultra Seal™ or C² Ultra Matte™. consumption can be even lower - Up to 120 sq/ft.
-
For comparison: standard impregnants are used at a yield of 20-40 m²/liter, or C² Protector™ we apply 2-3 times less.
👉 Too thick a layer does not improve the effectiveness, and may even cause technical problems (such as greasy appearance or prolonged drying). Therefore, we apply very thin mist On a well-prepared substrate.
Can I go back and correct the product application while the surface is still wet?
This is not recommended.
After applying the product, just spread it evenly and do not return to the same place with the mop, even if the surface is still wet.
Re-rubbing or „touching up” wet can:
-
Disrupt the product's even effect,
-
cause streaking or localized discoloration,
-
Increase drying time or worsen the end result.
👉 The best result is obtained with a single, even application and leaving it to dry naturally - no touch-ups.
How long does the product take to dry and when can I walk on it?
Normally, the surface dries after about 20-30 minutes.
Until then, do not walk on it or touch it, so as not to disturb the product.
👉 After drying (usually after about 30 minutes), it is safe to step onto the floor and continue working.
⚠️ The time given is approximate - may vary depending on:
-
ambient temperatures,
-
humidity,
-
room ventilation.
If in doubt, it is best to check that the surface is completely dry to the touch before going in.
Under what conditions can the product be applied and what should I pay attention to?
Application should be done under suitable environmental conditions for the product to work properly.
✔ Application temperature: from 4°C to 37°C
✔ Air humidity: no strict requirements, but the higher the humidity, the slower the product dries out
✔ Dew point: not significant with this product
👉 For best results, it is advisable to work in stable conditions, without drafts and with good ventilation. If the room is cool or very humid, expect extended drying time.
How to remove the excess, if it has already appeared?
Wash the floor:
-
In case of excess product and the formation of an oily, sticky film, you can try it remove with degreaser, such as. C² Degrease™
-
Apply the product with scrubbers with pad, working on a small area and thoroughly washing off the residue.
-
The recommended dilution ratio is 1:10, but if this is not enough, you can use a stronger solution (even up to 1:4).
Why do you need to close the package quickly and avoid high temperatures?
⚠️ Caution - keep the packaging secure!
- C2 Protector is solvent-based and reacts with moisture and heat.
- Immediately close the package tightly after use.
-
Do not store in a heated car or container. Temp range: 4-38 °C.
-
High temperatures or air access can cause the product to gell or thicken, making application difficult.
-
If there is a gel on top - remove it. The liquid material underneath can be used.
👉 Quick closure = full product effectiveness.
No, the smell is very faint and virtually undetectable.
Although C² Protector™ is a solvent-based product, it was developed with modern technology, using a solvent with very low odor. Thanks to this can be safely applied indoors, without discomfort to users or contractors.
In comparison - many traditional waterproofing products based on strong solvents have an intense smell and should not be used inside.
👉 C² Protector™ does not require leaving the room during application with standard ventilation.
