Repair of Frozen Concrete

Radom Terminal

concrete hardening technology with chloride protection option

Objective of the Operation:

  • Removal of weak peeling layer
  • Spot repairs
  • Curing and stopping dust
  • Salt protection (C² Salt Hard+)-optional

1. repair methodology

Due to the depth of frost damage, surface repair is insufficient. We suggest aggressive mechanical treatment to expose "healthy" aggregate, followed by chemical impregnation.

01
?

Machining

Removal of weak, frosted top layer (milky, loose fractions) using, for example, Bush Hammer heads or milling.

02
?

Spot repairs

Repair of cavities, expansion joints, cracks, reinforcement if exposed, etc.

03

Giving the pavement the right texture

Achieve a safe non-slip texture, such as light sanding with Bush Hammer heads.

Application C² Hard™ and C² Salt Hard+™ For hardening and chemical protection.

2. increase in abrasion resistance

The key problem of the current floor is peeling and dusting. Application of the product C² Hard™ causes chemical modification of the concrete structure. Independent tests (ASTM C1803) have shown a dramatic increase in resistance to mechanical abrasion.

3. advantage of Lithium Technology

Why do we suggest C² Hard (Lithium Silicate) instead of cheaper sodium hardeners? Lithium, thanks to its smaller molecule, penetrates deeper and does not cause the risk of ASR reaction, which is critical when repairing damaged concrete.

?

Speed of Response

Full operation possible as early as 1 hour after drying.

?️

No ASR Response.

Safe for older concretes - does not cause alkaline swelling.

?

Deep Penetration

Declared penetration depth ≥ 10mm (according to DWU).

4 Winter Protection: C² Salt Hard+™

As the pavement has become frozen, it is necessary to apply a "Protective Shield." The C² Salt Hard+ product introduces a hydrophobic and chloride barrier. The chart below simulates the durability of the pavement through freeze/thaw cycles.
